JKE M Media Safeguarding Statement
At JKE M Media, safeguarding is fundamental to how we work.
We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and professional environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and fairness. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk, ensuring their wellbeing is considered throughout every production, project and activity.
Our aim is to create an environment where people can develop creatively and professionally while feeling respected, supported and able to contribute without fear of discrimination, bullying or inappropriate behaviour.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Our Safeguarding Principles
We believe:
Every person has the right to feel safe and respected.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
Professional standards and respectful behaviour should be maintained at all times.
Concerns should always be listened to and taken seriously.
Young people should be supported to develop confidence, independence and professional skills within safe environments.
Diversity, inclusion and individuality should be welcomed and respected.
Working with Children and Young People
Where JKE M Media works with individuals under the age of 18, we will, where appropriate:
Obtain appropriate consent before participation.
Ensure parents or guardians are informed where required.
Collect appropriate emergency contact information.
Clearly communicate shoot locations, timings and expectations.
Carry out suitable risk assessments.
Ensure appropriate supervision arrangements are considered.
Respect personal boundaries and individual comfort levels.
Never pressure individuals into participating in activities they are uncomfortable with.
Promote a professional environment that encourages learning and development.
Photography and Filming
Where photography or filming involves children or young people, JKE M Media will:
Obtain appropriate permissions before recording.
Clearly explain how images and video may be used.
Use model release forms where appropriate.
Ensure all productions remain suitable, professional and age-appropriate.
Discuss styling and creative concepts in advance so expectations are clear.
Respect an individual's right to withdraw from any aspect of a shoot that makes them uncomfortable.
Never create or publish content intended to exploit, embarrass or place an individual at risk.

Mental Wellbeing
Creative environments can sometimes be demanding, and we recognise the importance of supporting wellbeing.
Whilst JKE M Media is not a mental health service, we aim to create an environment where individuals feel comfortable raising concerns or requesting support where appropriate.
Where concerns arise, we will respond with professionalism, compassion and appropriate signposting where necessary.
Professional Conduct
Everyone working with JKE M Media is expected to:
Treat others with dignity and respect.
Behave professionally at all times.
Maintain appropriate boundaries.
Follow reasonable health, safety and safeguarding instructions.
Report safeguarding concerns where appropriate.
Respect confidentiality.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
Behaviour that compromises the safety or wellbeing of others may result in removal from productions or termination of working relationships.
Reporting Safeguarding Concerns
JKE M Media takes all safeguarding concerns seriously and encourages anyone with a concern regarding the safety or wellbeing of an individual involved in our activities to report it as soon as possible.

All concerns will be handled sensitively, respectfully and, where appropriate, confidentially.
Information will only be shared where necessary to:
Protect an individual from harm.
Comply with legal obligations.
Meet safeguarding responsibilities.
Please note that the safeguarding mailbox is monitored during normal business hours and is not monitored 24 hours a day.
If someone is in immediate danger or at immediate risk of harm, you should contact the emergency services by calling 999 (or the relevant emergency service in your country) immediately.
Confidentiality
Safeguarding information will be managed responsibly and shared only where necessary and appropriate.
Confidentiality will never prevent JKE M Media from taking appropriate action where someone may be at risk of harm.
Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner where legislation, safeguarding guidance or organisational practice changes.
